Nothing Can Separate Us

“For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.”Romans 8:38-39

If the guilt you are feeling makes you stop closing to God that is only a tool of our enemy to stop following God. Guilt is their weapon, as long as we are sincere in asking forgiveness, we shouldn’t underestimate our forgiving God.

I remember there was a time when felt of giving up playing in worship team because I had a family time conflict with Sunday service. So it was usual every Sunday I got late and lose my mood of worship. I really don’t want to be late but conflict is inevitable as well as hurting feelings. So I talked to our pastor telling him that I want to quit because not deserving anymore. I feel the guilt of worshiping God with my bad mood earlier and so on.

Our pastor said that, that guilt only want me stop what I’m currently doing for God. He added that I should ask for his forgiveness and ask to give me other ways of serving him but don’t ever stop because, “For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord”

Are You Insured?

“And it is God who establishes us with you in Christ, and has anointed us, and who has also put his seal on us and given us his Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee.” -2 Corinthians 1:21-22

An insurance agent told me that as a Filipino getting an insurance is not a part of our plan. Unlike in western countries, they are serious talking about getting insured in life we don’t expect.

I agreed to her actually since we have a custom of one-day satisfaction. It is like, the only important thing to us is today and we don’t mind tomorrow.

I admit that I missed paying my insurance for a year. It’s a shame because I need to spend my money without thinking my future especially for my family.

What do you think? It is positive or negative? Because even Jesus said in Mathew 6:25, “Do not worry”. I really don’t know. Maybe that is where we get this custom of “Bahala na” or come what may. The only problem with us is not doing what Jesus said on “praying” and seeking the Kingdom of God.

Also I think there is a difference between living happy-go-lucky and putting trust to God. Just going with the flow means, we don’t care. We don’t care about our lives today and even our lives in eternity. While putting trust to God is doing what must need to do and do not worry on the outcome of it instead just leave it to God as guarantee.

In 2 Corinthians 1:21-22, Peter reminds us a guarantee or insurance that we will get as we established ourselves with Christ.

Please Comment On My New Christian Music Based Blog

I’m happy to announce that I recently published a new Christian music based blog. This time, instead of using wordpress.com, I built it through paid hosting. And because I have experience blogging with wordpress, I still use wordpress as my platform so it will be easier for me to familiarize the tools that I can use to make my blog even better than what I have here in free blogging platform.

Here I had focus on bible verse as a daily devotion, on my new blog I share Christian song lyrics and chords. I believe I mentioned before that I played Christian song in our local church so to extend my interest about this genre, I decided to publish a blog that can be a portal to other Christian Musicians alike where they can get chords on popular christian song such as worship songs from Hillsong, Planetshakers, Don Moen, Third Day, City Harvest, Chris Tomlin and a lot more.

Aside from lyrics and chords, I also included other important details on each song such as composer, tempo, and notes that  my readers might be interesting to read.

If you want to check my newly established website, you can visit https://www.pdfsongbook.com/

Please suggest, comment and criticize my new project for what improvement do you think that I should add. Thank you very much.

A Journey With God

Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him, rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving.Colossians 2:6-7

If we want to have faith we need to journey with God. It is not actually the time we accepted Jesus, everything will be easy. He said that the road for disciple will be difficult. But these difficulties will be our lesson for our faith to grow.

A Journey To Eternal Life

“But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the fruit you get leads to sanctification and its end, eternal life.” – Romans 6:22

Our journey to eternal life undergo different process. This will start from becoming God’s people. That is the only way for us to be free from sin. This is also a sign that we are already God’s people if we are free from sinning. A very simple words but actually a difficult things to do.

Actually I really don’t get if it is really possible for us not to fall to temptation. I know that with the help of God’s love and how we are going to hold on to his word, we can do it but it still possible to see a sinless man on earth?

Everytime I remember this verse, it is like I’m losing my hope for the eternal life. I know it is not good to judge myself but I know myself and if I”m going to put this verse in my life I know I’m still slave, I know that I’m still far away from sanctification and eternal life 😦

Whatever We’ve Done, There Is Always A Room For God’s Forgiveness

“For his anger is but for a moment, and his favor is for a lifetime.  Weeping may tarry for the night, but joy comes with the morning.” – Psalm 30:5

I remember in my employment. I have my adviser who is also my boss. We have a project and promise him that I will help him to get the best result as possible. I failed him and I stop working to him. I don’t know what he is thinking but I know him expected a lot to me. I heard nothing from him. I felt like he changed.

So one day I decided to confront him and filed a resignation. But instead of firing me, it gave him a big surprise asked what’s the problem. I told him everything and he laughed. I also asked him why he is been quiet since them. He told me that he need to work seriously.

I also asked him if he is angry to me. He said, why? I said because I failed. He said that, “It is no one’s fault.” We did our best and that is enough.

This is also the what I’m thinking every time I failed God and I thought of stop working to him. Everytime I’ve done wrong, I’m thinking of quitting a servicing on him because I feel the guilt and how failure I am.

But it is how my boss forgave me and reason for me to continue, I’m also thinking that God, wants me to continue. Because there is always a joy waiting for me from his mercy.

Knowledge Comes From Criticism

“Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge,
but he who hates reproof is stupid.” – Proverbs 12:1

I remember when I’m playing as drummer in our band, I used to ask my mates to criticize me or say something when I done wrong as part of my growth in the band. I understand as founder and financier of our group, they will no revoke me for anything I do. I know that they are worrying if they say something that I might don’t like.

Actually it brought disadvantage to me as it limit me to learning something and to grow. This is why I’m always saying that I learn much from my mistake than my right because I know that I did something that I never made before.

Solomon known to be the wisest person who live in Earth said on Proverbs 12:1 that those who seek knowledge must also find reproof.

Now for the word discipline, because accepting reproofing shows patience. Sometimes we don’t like the idea of other people disagreeing with us because of our pride. It is like accepting that there are still things we don’t know. And as an ego-centered person it is a shame to their image.

But actually it works opposite to wise people. I remember in the book of Jostein Gaarder when he said that “Wisest is she who knows she does not know.” It is actually based from Socrates when he said that all he is not wise, what he knows is that he doesn’t know. Because if you already knew everything there is no room for you to know something new.

It is also mentioned in 48 Laws of Power that you should play dumber so you can have an advantage. Although the book oppose most of Christian philosophy it agrees on acquiring knowledge from people or usually criticism.

Doubt Comes With Fear But Patience Bring Courage.

“Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord!”

– Psalm 27:14

A very encouraging words from David that deals with patience and courage. When we are waiting we need patience and sometimes when we are waiting for someone we have doubt and from doubt we are afraid. What if he/she already forgotten us? What if he/she will never come?

To answer that question we need to be strong and keep our faith high. God never change and surely He will come for us.

God Never Change

Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.Mark 13:31

Very encouraging words from God especially in this changing world. People change and pass away but we need to put our faith in God’s word as it will never be passed away. He is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. So He helped and blessed us yesterday, I know He will do it today and tomorrow all we have to do is to stand firm for our faith.

Praise God No Matter What

“Through him then let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of lips that acknowledge his name.”Hebrews 13:15

From the verse there are two words from my thoughts, “continually” and “praise.” So this is about praising God continually regardless of situation in life we have. Followed by the verse “fruits of lops that acknowledge his name.” It is easy to curse when we are angry but we shouldn’t instead, we need to still acknowledging God that whatever happens this is for his Glory and acknowledge the goodness of it.
