Our Soul Feels The Same Way

“Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you in turmoil within me? Hope in God; for I shall again praise him, my salvation and my God.”

-Psalm 42:11

From the verse I understand that the our soul feels the way we feel. Psalm 42 is about David longing for God after he committed sins. So every time we sin, our soul is also restless. And the only thing we can do is to come back to God as He the author of salvation.

As God’s Servant There Always Goodness Waiting for Us

“And now, O Lord God, you are God, and your words are true, and you have promised this good thing to your servant.”

-2 Samuel 7:2

From this verse we can hold to God’s word that as His servant there is always a good thing happen to us. Maybe for us human seems difficulties and affliction yet in God’s time it is all for our good. Because God’s word are true and from the very beginning, his plan is to give us all the goodness. Even that plan got distorted by evil one still, the grace of salvation, the sacrifice Jesus Christ, still we can say that God is good.

Be Still and Let Spirit Helps Us

“Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words.”

-Romans 8:26

Spirit is our voice to God. I experienced that we are so weak, we really don’t know how to control our emotion. I even mad at God before, thought that I did what I know is right but still He didn’t hear me. But actually He listened to me at that time, all I need to do is to be still.

With this verse, I understand it. Because Spirit is there to help us in our weakness. In time that we do not know what to pray, let us Spirit pray for us. But we need to be still because Spirit is gentle and not let our emotion manipulate us but our Spirit.

Can You Imagine How Powerful The Word of God Is?

“By the word of the Lord the heavens were made, and by the breath of his mouth all their host.”

-Psalm 33:6

This is how powerful the word of God is. So everything on His word is true and powerful that we can put our hope on. This is also what in my mind every time I need help from him. Keep holding on his word that He is going to save me, all His promises to me and nothing for me to worry. If He created the universe in His word, how easy for Him to save me from my afflictions. Every time I fear, Psalm 23 is enough  my anxiety to be relieved.

We must keep holding on His word. If  I don’t believe on it, I shouldn’t believe that I’m also living now.

Everyone Can Glorifies God

“So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.”

-1 Corinthians 10:31

Since Sandersweb.com is down where I get my daily verse in random, I have a chance now to select the verse I’m going to read now for today’s devotion. Well 1 Corinthians 10:31 is one of my favorite verses that inspires us to keep on doing things that glorifies God. I admit to myself that I can’t be a priest, I can’t be a pastor but it doesn’t mean I can do nothing that will glorifies God. Actually not all Christian can be or should be. But in everything we do, either we are policeman, driver, actor, janitor or anything we should do our job for the glory of God.

I Will Train My Child Now

“Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.”

-Proverbs 22:6

Thanks Lord for reminding me of it. Actually I have this my mind for my son before he was born. I will tell him about you and how good you are too me. I will teach him how to play music for you,   I will to teach him everything that will makes him a good man.

But to admit it to myself I missing it now because of work, with him as 3 years and with my daughter 6 months old, I really need to work while attending both them is tedious to me and to my wife. Everything I planned, I’m failing it as I’m busy to my work.

When they came into our lives I know I need to work longer. Though sometimes yes, we told stories on him about God. He knows how to thank God, he knows that everything he had is from You. It is lovely when to hear him every time I gave him a gift (excavator toys as his favorite. I said it because later on he is going to read it and he will laugh at it as he is very fond of playing construction vehicles) he is saying, “Thank you Papa Jesus”

But unfortunately it seems that I have more excuses than we are doing the training. Excuses such as I can’t teach to play drums because he can’t kick the bass, we can’t sleep together at night because I need to work and so with many other reasons.

With the verse above, “Train up a child” God reminding me to start training from his childhood. I don’t need to wait for him to get 5 years old so his foot can kick the bass before I can start teaching him how to play drums. I should start now.

I will do it, starting today, I will train him. God please guide and help me. I pray to you. I don’t want him to be like me who don’t know You until I got 23. Who don’t know who’s going to ask for a help, who to thanks for all the goodness happening in his life, don’t know the grace of your salvation.

Lord guide me so I will be a good trainer to him and so I can assure that with Your love he will not depart from it.

Every Gift Is From God Above

“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change. Of his own will he brought us forth by the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.”

-James 1:17-18

Yes we can say, “Thank you Lord” for the good gift He gave to us such as prosperity, success, good health as this is clearly from him. But how about sickness, failures, persecution. Can we consider that this is gift from God?

Yes I believe as it is written on Romans 8:28, “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who[a] have been called according to his purpose.”

If you believe that God is working on you, everything including afflictions, failures is also a good gift from. For a meantime people will look at it as sufferings but in God’s time, when His glory unveils everything will work for good and we can assure that this is still from God above.
