Does devil Know What Inside Our Mind?

“Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”

-James 4:7

I’m asking before, does devil know what we are thinking? How he knows the vulnerable part of us? Does he know what inside my mind? Why he is always winning the battle in my mind?

I heard from different pastors that God is the only all-knowing. He is the only one who knows what’s in our mind. So that’s the fact.

But then we are giving the enemy a hint about our weaknesses and he uses it to temptate us. The enemy seeing us in our addiction, the enemy is seeing our desires based on what you do, the enemy is know our treasure (Mathew 6:21) and with this he can easily know our heart and use it against our spiritual will.

And for me, the best thing to win battle is not having fight at all. So before the battle of temptation ignited in our mind, it is better to not to go on that situation. Temptation is everywhere and we need to fight it as a Christian, and the best we can do is to resist the enemy and let it flee from us.

  1. Hello friend, I believe that the devil doesn’t know what’s inside our mind, but he constantly tries to feed us with unbelieving thoughts. If e.g. we’re constantly fed with say pizzas, at some time when we’re hungry we might eventually grab a bite – I think that’s his method.

Also “Resisting the devil” is not a passive action of doing nothing, instead it is a very active and aggressive action of proclaiming God’s word to the enemy, just like how Jesus did when he was tempted. Eventually the devil had to flee as he could stand the word of God

So I completely agree with the way you summarized your post “Temptation is everywhere and we need to fight it as a Christian, and the best we can do is to resist the enemy and let it flee from us.” – keeping in mind that fighting and resisting are active and aggressive voluntary actions.

  2. One of the multitude of ways God is more powerful than the devil. God can read our mind (why I often pray silently), and the devil cannot.
